In upgrading our line of synthetic API licensed motor oils to the API SP and ILSAC GF-6 standards, Lucas Oil established a premium line of engine oils that provide maximum protection and performance from oil change to oil change. Lucas Synthetic API SP Passenger Car Motor Oils (PCMO) are blended from the highest quality API Group III and Group IV base oils and combined with a cutting-edge additive package of detergents, dispersants, antioxidants, and corrosion inhibitors. Shear stable viscosity modifiers insure multi-grade performance throughout the life of the oil. With the advent of API SP/ILSAC GF-6, enhanced performance and improvements can be seen specifically in: low speed pre-ignition (LSPI) protection, maintaining piston cleanliness, oxidation control, engine oil sludge prevention, timing chain wear protection, improved fuel economy, turbocharger protection in turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDI) engines, as well as proven performance in Hybrid applications. Lucas Synthetic SAE 0W-16 API SP Motor Oil is our low-viscosity, fuel saving formula with viscosity modifiers that is well suited to late model cars.
